The boys and girls track teams had overall positive results on Thursday at South Fayette during a non-section meet.
Baldwin competed against Upper Saint Clair, South Fayette, and Butler.
Senior Vivien Skalos said the girls hurdles team did well overall. Skalos, who competes in the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles, placed seventh overall in the 100 meter hurdles.
In the 100 meter hurdles, sophomore Mia Schwarzmiller stood out, she said.
“She was able to three-step between hurdles throughout all of the hurdles, which was really good and made her go faster,” Skalos said.
Senior Jules Ott has started the season off strong, placing first in her 800 meter run at the meet, Skalos said.
“Coming straight from basketball season, she’s doing really well,” Skalos said.
Baldwin’s relay teams also performed well, with the girls 4×400 and the boys 4×800 both placing first overall. Junior Jack Reichl, who competed in the boys 4×800, felt good about his performance.
“I personally had a solid day in the 4×800, 400, and 200,” he said.
The boys 4×400 was also a standout to Reichl.
“Timmy Bush, McKinley Beech, and Zach Smerbeck did well in the 4×400 at the end of the meet and ran impressive splits,” Reichl said.
Skalos said that the team could improve as a whole through individual work.
“We could improve through working on individual events, everyone taking corrections, and showing up to practice,” she said.
Reichl believes the team could focus to improve relays at practice.
