The Baldwin boys tennis team lost 3-2 to Shaler on Tuesday.

Shaler stayed consistent throughout the match, which led to the victory, senior Hayden Swanson said.

“Shaler played the same the whole game,” Swanson said. “They played well while being consistent, and that is how they won their matches.”

Senior Laeth Salih agreed.

“Shaler just kept us moving and some of us struggled to find our pacing,” Salih said

Although Baldwin had a tough loss, Swanson said that a few of his teammates performed well.

“Seniors Nikita Petruk and Carter Smeal did really well,” Swanson said. “They won their matches and kept the match close.”

Swanson said that they could improve on their serves. Salih, meanwhile, said Baldwin needed to control the game more.

“We tried to play to our strengths but it did not work,” Salih said. “Shaler controlled the court and it was tough to keep up.”

Baldwin’s next match is Thursday at home against Central Catholic.
