The boys volleyball team won 3-2 against Mt. Lebanon on Monday.
Senior Dylan Leonhardt said the Highlanders played a strong game.
“I think we were serving really well in this game compared to others,” Leonhardt said. “We were getting touches on a lot of stuff we normally don’t.”
Junior Martino Suta and senior Austin Kruszewski stood out in the game, he said.
“Austin was really helpful in later sets with a lot of blocks and just overall keeping the ball on our side of the net,” Leonhardt said.
Suta made adjustments to improve throughout the game, leading the team to a win, Leonhardt said.
To sophomore Min Yazar, senior Alex Kelly’s 10-footer was a huge energy boost for the team.
Although Lebo lost, they still played a strong game, according to Leonhardt.
“They were using our blocks really well and overall just making minimal mistakes,” Leonhardt said.
Yazar also pointed out Lebo’s competitiveness and Baldwin’s comeback toward the end of the game.
“Lebo did really well,” Yazar said. “They were up at the beginning, but we managed to beat them.”
The team now has an overall record of 4-2 and a section record of 2-0.
The Highlanders compete again tonight at Canon-McMillan.
