The Baldwin girls and boys track teams each picked up wins over West Mifflin and Bethel Park on Tuesday.
The boys and girls 4×8 and 4×4 teams both won. Junior Becca Gruntz won all three of her jumping events. Other winners included senior Alex Castaneda in the 1600 and 3200, as well as senior Zach Lieu in the 400. Jules Ott was a standout in the 400 and relay teams.
Junior Lucy Smodic and senior Anna Plunkett excelled in both discus and shot put, while junior Logan Breisinger dominated most of his events.
“Overall, the team did great,” sophomore Brooke Cichon said.
Sophomore Ethan Yimin also credited sophomore Anthony Cirilli’s performance.
“Anthony ran well in the third heat and he had a good block start,” he said.
Yimin said he ran a strong 100-meter dash.
“For the 100-meter dash, I had a good block start and kept up with the West Mifflin runners,” Yimin said.
The boys and girls teams have a limited number of hurdlers and pole vaulters, but still did well, Yimin said.
“I feel that the team did great, especially with the limited hurdlers and pole vaulters,” Yimin said.
