The flag football team shut out South Fayette on Tuesday, 18-0.
Freshman Sara Kalikote said the Highlanders started strong.
“We scored very early in the game, and because of that our confidence level went up a lot.” Kalikote said
Freshman Bristal Booth said Baldwin’s teamwork was an important part of the game.
“We all worked as a team on communicating this game,” Booth said.
Booth said freshman Avrie Lipiello and senior Ava Dagostino, a South Park student who plays for Baldwin, performed well.
“Avrie made the first touchdown and kept getting the ball, and Ava also made two interceptions and kept getting the ball,” Booth said.
Kalikote said Baldwin still needs to work on defense and on not getting into their own heads too much.
South Fayette put in a good effort, Kalikote said.
“Their quarterback was good. She was communicating with her team and was very loud,” Kalikote said.
The team’s next match is at 7 p.m. today against South Allegheny.
