The Baldwin softball team defeated Bethel Park 19-4 on Monday to keep the team undefeated in section play.
Junior Melina DeFelice said the team hit well and adjusted to Bethel Park’s pitcher early on.
“We hit really well and adjusted to the pitcher and used that to our advantage,” DeFelice said.
Junior Jordan Gerendash also said Baldwin hit well.
“We all hit the whole time with only one strikeout,” Gerendash said.
Senior Avery Herrington stood out for her performance at bat, going four for four with three doubles, Gerendash said.
Baldwin can continue to improve on keeping their defense together and having better morale, Defelice said.
“We need to continue to stay up even when the game is getting stressful and close,” DeFelice said.
Bethel, meanwhile, performed well in the field, Gerendash said.
“They made the routine plays that needed to be made,” Gerendash said.
The team’s next game is home at 6 p.m. today against Albert Gallatin.
