In freshman Connor Seasoltz’s first high school boys lacrosse season, he is already becoming a key asset on offense.
Seasoltz’s middle school scoring ability is transferring to the high school level to help the team have a better chance to win games. He brings offensive chances that the team will need in future games to excel.
Seasoltz scored 40 goals during his last middle school season.
‘’I’m a goal scorer. I try to generate offense for the team,” Seasoltz said.
Teammates said he works well with his attack line and the freshman midfielders. Freshman Nolan O’Malley praised his ability to bond with the team.
“He has a bonding connection with a lot of our freshmen and a lot of our team in general,” O’Malley said.
Seasoltz has played with O’Malley along with freshman Jackson Voelker for a couple years, and they have good chemistry on the field.
Senior Evan Szpara said Seasoltz is doing well as a freshman.
“Whenever he plays he can get the ball around pretty well and is good at dodging,” Szpara said.
He is already providing some leadership, Szpara said.
“For the other freshmen, I think everyone looks up to him,” Szpara said.
The team’s first game of the season was a 13-1 win over TJ. Seasoltz scored twice and created many offensive opportunities.
“It took everyone, not just him, to get into it, but we all found our groove and we were able to score,” O’Malley said.
Voelker, a midfielder, said Seasoltz is good at finishing his offensive chances.
“Starting as a freshman, he’s been good,” Voelker said. “It will get more physical moving forward.”
Along with lacrosse, Seasoltz has played hockey for a long time, including this year on Baldwin’s team.
“When I was about 10 I started lacrosse, just to get another sport besides hockey,” Seasoltz said.
Seasoltz played up in 14u lacrosse when he was 10, and he got very close with junior team captain Owen McCluckie.
“He was my best friend on the team and helped me through my first year,” Seasoltz said.
Seasoltz is ready for the games to come and he is showing out for the offensive line.
