Baldwin’s boys lacrosse team beat West Allegheny 8-2 on Thursday night.
Freshman midfielder Jackson Voelker said Baldwin struggled in the first half, but the team was able to pull through in the second half to secure the win.
“We definitely locked in the second half,” Voelker said.
Voelker said junior Owen McLuckie stood out for Baldwin.
“He’s always good at getting open for a good shot,” Voelker said.
Freshman defensive player Jack Hampton said senior Evan Szpara played well.
“He scored and played really good defense,” Hampton said.
Looking forward, Hampton said the team can work on passing better. He said his own game could use some work as well.
“Personally, I think I need to work on my one-on-one defense,” Hampton said.
The team also is hoping to work on getting better at clearing the ball next game, Voelker said.
Hampton is eager to play the next game, hopeful for another win.
“As long as we keep playing hard and fast, we’re in for a good season,” Hampton said.
Baldwin’s boys lacrosse team plays a home game against Chartiers Valley at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
