The flag football team lost 33-12 on Thursday night against Thomas Jefferson.
Freshman Nicole Gruntz recognized Thomas Jefferson’s strengths.
“They threw the ball very well, and their defense was also really good,” Gruntz said.
Sophomore Layla Miller thinks Baldwin did a good job working through mistakes.
“We did good not getting in our heads,” Miller said. “If someone made a mistake, the next play, they would do something good to fix it.”
Both Gruntz and Miller said junior Adut Aciek stood out for the Highlanders.
“Adut played really well because she got a lot of interceptions, and she got a touchdown,” Gruntz said.
Additionally, all of the quarterbacks had a strong game, Miller said.
Gruntz noted what Baldwin should focus on as the season continues.
“I think we all need to work together better as a team,” Gruntz said.
The team’s next game is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bishop Canevin.
