Girls flag football lost 39-14 on Tuesday night to Uniontown.
Uniontown had a good defense and moved the ball well, sophomore Carmen Jaquay said. They did not force their passes and they were patient with the ball.
Jaquay said the game featured lots of back and forth and Baldwin started to pick it up at halftime.
A standout player was Ava Dagostino, who goes to South Park but plays for Baldwin, Jaquay said. She scored one of their two touchdowns.
“Ava had lots of interceptions and hustled the whole game,” Jaquay said.
Jaquay thinks the team needs to improve on catching the ball and running till the whistle is blown. As the season goes on Jaquay hopes to win games and have better energy at practice.
“We really need to focus more and not get in our heads so easily,” Jaquay said.
The girls will take on Thomas Jefferson on Thursday at Thomas Jefferson High School.
