The Baldwin boys lacrosse team lost 8-3 to Franklin Regional on Tuesday.
Senior Alex Myers said the team’s lack of effort was the biggest problem for Baldwin.
The Highlanders have to start “bringing effort and wanting to play better. It’s all just mental,” Myers said. “If we played way harder than we did, we could have won.”
Franklin Regional had many fast breaks that led to goals. They were “cutting behind people and getting an open shot,” senior Evan Szpara said.
Franklin Regional’s defense cut off shooting lanes well, which gave the offense a hard time, Myers said.
Baldwin’s offense did well but struggled with getting scoring opportunities, Sparza said.
“The offense did move the ball around well, but they struggled getting shots on net,” Szpara said.
Myers complimented Josh Stout’s game.
“He always brings energy. He tries when we’re losing and has that type of grit,” Myers said
Baldwin is playing against West Allegheny at home on Thursday.
