Baldwin’s bowling team as well as two individual bowlers, senior Rosemary Becker and junior Michael Quallich, competed in regionals Friday and Saturday.
Neither the team nor Becker or Quallich were able to qualify for states, bringing an end to their season.
Quallich and Becker both ended up placing around the middle of the field in the individual regionals. Becker bowled her average, and she got to talk with some of the girls on her lanes.
“I matched my average for the year, and I made a new friend, so I’m pretty content,” Becker said.
Quallich had a similar feeling towards his performance.
“I started off strong. But I have some knee problems, so I had to adjust on the third game, and I was able to finish really strong,” Quallich said. “I fought through it and I placed respectably.”
Quallich was happy with the team’s performance this season, and reminisced on one game that helped get them into the playoffs.
“We bowled an 1100 series as a team, which was our personal best, and our coach said that was like one of the best he’d ever seen,” Quallich said. “We won that match, which ended up getting us in the playoffs.”
