Baldwin ice hockey wrapped up its season with a 4-1 win over Shaler last Monday.
This was Baldwin’s last game of the season, so the Highlanders didn’t want to go out on a loss.
“Our team just did everything right – played the body, and moved the puck around to keep the pressure up,” junior Jacob Kaercher said.
The game was tied at the end of the second period, 1-1, but then the Highlanders went on a run in the third, scoring three goals to finally pull away.
Sophomore Timothy Bush led the Highlanders with two goals.
“Tim normally goes his hardest and plays well. The only thing he did differently was he finally found the back of the net twice,” Kaercher said.
Kaercher explained that Shaler moved the puck really well and had some open net opportunities, but they didn’t succeed.
“The other team moved the puck around really well and played the body pretty good,” Kaercher said.
Looking back over the season, Kaercher said it has been a solid year.
“I think the season went okay. We almost made the playoffs, but overall the year was really fun with this team,” Kaercher said.
