Super Bowl LX was hyped up to be one of the best games of the year, but that hope came crashing down by halftime, when the Seahawks were beating the Patriots 12-0.
Seattle easily took over the game and won 29-13, while New England struggled to even get a first down before the fourth quarter.
This game was also terrible for breakout plays and big passes, as Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold passed for 202 yards on 19 completions with 38 attempts. On the other side, New England quarterback Drake Maye threw for 295 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, while playing with an undisclosed injury.
Seahawks Kenneth Walker Jr. had one of the best games of his career, winning the Super Bowl MVP with 135 yards from scrimmage. The Patriots’ cornerback Christian Gonzales also had the best game of his career and was honestly the best on the field.
Rasheed Shaheed, acquired from the Saints before the trade deadline, played a vital part in the Super Bowl as he was the primary returner for the Hawks.
The last time these two teams were in the Super Bowl, that 2015 game ended with Malcom Butler of the Patriots picking off Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson to deny what would have been a game-winning touchdown. That play put that Super Bowl in the history books. This misled people into believing this Super Bowl would match it in terms of excitement or drama.
Seattle’s defense dominated the game, which is something they have done for the majority of the year.
This is Seattle’s second Super Bowl win. The team is expected to be sold, and their offensive coordinator, Klint Kubiak, will be departing to take the Raiders’ head coaching job.
Bad Bunny’s halftime show of the Super Bowl was better than the game, which was sleep-inducing. The only issue on that front is that most American football fans are not fluent Spanish speakers, which may have affected how much some people enjoyed the halftime show.
Bad Bunny, however, did show off poetic tones throughout his performance and a love for Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory, and America as a whole.
