The unified bocce team lost to Steel Valley 3-2 on Wednesday.
“The other team did well with getting the ball consistently close to the pallino,” junior Carter Banderinko said.
Even with the loss, Baldwin still had some successes.
“We did good with our pallino rolls,” Banderinko said.
Along with Baldwin’s strong rolls, there were several standouts among the team.
“John (Shandor) stood out; he played very well,” senior Ella Schwarzmiller said.
The match was close, she said.
“We almost came back to win the first game,” Schwarzmiller said.
Baldwin’s unified bocce team did not reach the playoffs this year. Despite it being an emotional last game of the season on Wednesday, the team played well overall.
“I think we played very good as a team, and it was sad that it was our last match,” Schwarzmiller said.
The team will compete in a tournament at South Park on Saturday.
