The Baldwin boys basketball team beat Uniontown 62-45 on Wednesday, setting up a key showdown with Thomas Jefferson tonight.
Senior Taye O’Toole said the Highlanders played well against Uniontown.
“We moved the ball pretty well. Our defense is getting better and better with each game,” O’Toole said.
Although the Highlanders won, junior Evan Golvash said the team can continue to improve on “communication and defense.”
Despite losing, Uniontown shot well, he said.
“Uniontown shot the three-pointer well,” Golvash said.
If the Highlanders win their home game tonight against Thomas Jefferson, they are guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.
Thomas Jefferson is undefeated in section and in first place. But the Highlanders only lost by three points the first time they played.
O’Toole said Baldwin’s key players must take charge and lead by example tonight.
“Big players have to have big games and have to play as a team together,” O’Toole said.
Golvash is looking forward to the game.
”We’re ready for the game,” Golvash said.
The game starts at 7:45 p.m. today at home.
