The boys and girls swim teams lost to Central and Oakland Catholic on Wednesday.
Senior Katie Gruendler complimented the winners on their performance.
“The other team had some really outstanding people, which won them a lot of races and pushed our swimmers to go faster,” Gruendler said.
Despite this loss, sophomore Spencer Popp recognized the hard work of freshman Kara Herrle.
“Kara did a great job at the meet. I think everyone does a great job, but Kara really stood out to me. She is really passionate about the sport, ” Popp said.
Gruendler also highlighted her teammate Kelsey Malloy for her hardworking attitude during the meet.
“Kelsey Malloy did really well in her 500 meters,” Gruendler said.
Gruendler recognizes the team could have improved on some events, but also highlighted the dedication and support of her teammates.
“The team overall did well. We were missing some people because of illness and other reasons, but we were still able to score some good points despite the loss,” Gruendler said.
Overall the season has been successful and Gruendler is excited to see what will happen next.
“The season has been going well so far and we are hitting our taper in practice, so hopefully our times will start going down,” Gruendler said.
The next meet is senior night at home on Tuesday against Chartiers Valley.
