The Baldwin bowling team defeated Central Catholic 7-0 on Wednesday, improving their record to 4-2.
Junior AJ Amato bowled the best score of the night with a 246.
“It was very nice with AJ stepping up. It really helped us as a whole,” sophomore Joe Renzi said.
Junior Michael Quallich also had an impact on the win with a score of 214.
“Michael had a really good day, and his round led to the team doing better,” Renzi said.
Quallich, in turn, complimented Renzi’s performance.
“Overall, Joe Renzi bowled the best, with a 185, a 191, and a 200,” Quallich said.
Quallich noticed how the team has been really successful with strikes.
“We struggled with them early on, but now I feel like we’ve got it down,” Quallich said.
Renzi saw that Central was hard to play against because they never stopped battling.
“Central was pretty good at getting spares, and they did well as a team,” Renzi said.
Moving forward, Renzi said the team can do better with spares.
“It helps a lot when we can knock all the pins down. It hurts us if we leave two or three pins left,” Renzi said.
The bowling team faces Central Catholic again at 3 p.m. Friday at Coral Lanes.
