Baldwin’s wrestling team qualified for WPIAL playoffs by defeating Bethel Park 38-27 on Wednesday.
Senior Parraish Brinson is proud of how the team played.
“The team was pretty aggressive at the end, and we pulled through and we kept the crowd going,” Brinson said.
Mikey Griffiths stood out for Baldwin, Brinson said.
“He had a really tough kid, but he managed to beat him and wrestled pretty hard,” Brinson said. “How he took control of the match in the end was really impressive.”
Junior Gavin Ulmer agreed, but he also highlighted Mikko Kustron’s performance.
“Mikko had a really good comeback against his kid,” Ulmer said.
Brinson said Bethel was a difficult opponent.
“Bethel Park is hard to beat at times, so they played a really good run,” Brinson said.
Brinson said the Highlanders still have some things to work on moving forward.
“I feel like we could’ve been more aggressive, since we’ve been focused so intently on our intensity and aggressiveness during our practices,” Brinson said.
