The boys basketball team lost to South Fayette on Monday, 43-39.
Sophomore Sadiq Anderson said South Fayette did a good job of getting Baldwin to play at the pace they wanted.
“They were just slowing us down, playing at their tempo and their speed, getting more rebounds, and just playing more efficiently and aggressively,” Anderson said.
Baldwin was leading into the fourth quarter. But after South Fayette took a timeout with about seven minutes left, Baldwin struggled to score the rest of the game.
The loss drops Baldwin’s record to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the section.
Anderson said senior Max Marzina played well for the Highlanders.
“Max did pretty well getting his rebounds and directing everyone, just being a leader,” Anderson said.
Trey Alario played in his first game after missing a couple of games.
“Trey – for him not playing for so long, out for two games and practices – he came back and had a couple of nice shots and plays,” Anderson said.
Anderson, meanwhile, scored 17 points for Baldwin.
Baldwin’s next game will be at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 27 against McDowell High School, during a Christmas tournament at West Allegheny.
