The boys basketball team fell to Mt. Lebanon, 51-61, on Tuesday.
Lebo was able to get the upper hand on Baldwin because “they’re smart, they play good defense, and they have good scorers,” senior Trey Alario said.
Baldwin struggled to start strong, Alario said. Working on playing hard is one of the team’s goals for the season.
“We could’ve started off in the game better and came out stronger,” he said. “We’re going to work on not being scared of playing hard.”
Junior Evan Golvash said the team could work on communication.
“We need to talk more on defense,” he said.
Even though the Highlanders lost, Alario said the team kept pushing throughout the game.
“We didn’t give up and kept playing hard,” he said.
Golvash agreed.
“We kept composure when the other team pressed,” he said.
Certain players, such as Golvash, played strong and scored lots of points, Alario said.
Senior Max Marzina handled the ball well for Baldwin, Golvash said.
The loss evens the team’s record at 1-1. Their next game is home today at 7:30 PM against Penn Trafford.
