Baldwin’s Rocket League esports team ended its season with a 3-0 loss to Interboro from southeastern Pennsylvania on Monday.
Senior Brayden Parker said the Highlanders were not cohesive.
“We were interfering with each other a lot,” he said. “We definitely needed to rotate better, and our boost management was really bad.”
The offense struggled to score, Parker said. However, the team did have a strong defense.
“Our defense was definitely solid. We just weren’t scoring on offense,” Parker said.
Parker said that despite the loss, junior Ethan Green stood out for Baldwin.
“Ethan played really well,” Parker said. “Out of the three of us, he seemed to be in position a lot more and was more aware.”
Coach Nathan Elias said Parker also played well.
“Braydon Parker had the best match yesterday,” Elias said. “He has been our most consistent player all year, routinely making good saves and getting to balls others are not.”
This was the team’s last game, since they did not make the playoffs with their 4-4 record, Parker said.
Elias said the Highlanders competed through the whole season.
“We did well to fight and play hard in every match,” he said.
