The Baldwin football team lost 61-0 to the Peters Township Indians on Friday.
Sophomore Dylan Kluczkowski said that Peters played a tough game overall.
“They stopped us from getting the yards we needed on offense. They were able to predict what we were going to do almost every play,” Kluczkowski said.
Senior Caleb Scheller said Peters excelled at offense as well.
“They picked out our defense one by one and had no trouble getting the ball where it needed to be,” Scheller said.
Despite the loss, Kluczkowski said Baldwin’s defense played a solid game.
“We were able to make a couple of stops against their offense, which was definitely an upset for them,” Kluczkowski said.
The team only has one more game left in the season, and both Scheller and Kluczkowski said a few things need to be improved.
Kluczkowski said the team needs to experiment with more plays.
“We need to try new plays on the offensive side of things. Specifically we should focus on spreading the ball out more. We also need to be less predictable overall,” Kluczkowski said.
Scheller said the team should work on execution.
“We really have to execute all plays, offensively and defensively. Hopefully we can win it and go out with a bang,” Scheller said.
The team’s last game is this Friday at home against Upper Saint Clair.
