Slow pitch softball is a club sports team at Baldwin High School.
The Baldwin slow pitch softball team lost 19-0 to Mt. Lebanon on Saturday in the first round of playoffs.
Junior Annie Martire said Mt. Lebanon outplayed the Highlanders.
“Their defense was very good. We could not get any hits because of it,” Martire said.
She also praised Mt. Lebanon’s hitting.
“They hit the ball well and it was hard to get them out,” Martire said.
Still, Baldwin could have played better, she said.
“We just did not play to the best of our abilities,” Martire said. “We could have hit better but we didn’t.”
Even though Baldwin lost, sophomore Layla Miller had a good game.
“Layla (Miller) was great in the outfield. She made many great plays in left center field,” Martire said.
