The prom fashion show has been canceled because seniors who wanted to take part in the event did not meet requirements for participation, senior class co-sponsor Michelle Kilburn said.
Students who wanted to be in the prom fashion show were each required to sell two ads for a fashion show program, and each group of three students was to put together a basket of items to be raffled off at the event. Guys also were to get fitted for their tuxedos. Those requirements were not met, Kilburn said.
“It was really hard to pull the plug on it, but (class co-sponsor Dr. Dan) Harrold and I had no choice,” Kilburn said.
The sponsors are considering several options to replace the fashion show. One option could be a “Spring Fling” dance in the gym, with the possibility of having the pool open for anyone who wanted to swim, and a movie showing in the auditorium, Kilburn said.
