Paper towel dispensers in the bathrooms near the gyms and auditorium are being replaced by hand dryers.
The first ones appeared in the boys bathroom between the gym and south cafeteria. Principal Dr. Walter Graves said that other bathrooms located in high-traffic areas – the bathrooms near where evening events are normally held – will have the hand dryers installed through the rest of the year.
“The idea is that it is more sanitary,” Graves said. “We’re trying to decrease the need to purchase paper towels, as well as the waste that the paper towels create.”
Replacing the paper towel dispensers also helps with maintenance, Graves said.
