Baldwin’s indoor percussion and guard groups performed in the indoor championships at Kiski Area High School on Saturday.

The percussion and guard groups placed sixth and eighth respectively, both finishing in last place.

Senior Julianna Lang, from the color guard, said she is proud of her team for how they performed during the championship.

“We did really well. We made a lot of improvements in scores,” Lang said.

Senior Katie Weber, from indoor percussion, agreed.

“I feel like Baldwin did the best that we could for the music. It could have been better, but there’s no such thing as a perfect run. It couldn’t have been perfect,” Weber said.

Lang complimented senior Julia Graham and eighth-grader Emily Harmon for their work.

“Julia Graham always stands out. She is really good not only in work and choreography but she is also a really good teammate and leader. Emily Harmon does a really good job with her dance work too, especially for a first-time member,” Lang said.

Weber said she has many positive reflections on this season.

“I enjoyed time at rehearsal …We had fun breaks during reps, goofing off in between drills, but we got back into the music quickly. A lot of us were on new instrumentsr that we’d never touched before, so we had to learn new things. But for everything we accomplished, I’m really proud of how the season went,” Weber said.

Lang was happy with how her senior season on the indoor guard went.

“It was honestly my favorite season ever. The show was incredible, the people were incredible, and the vibes were amazing,” Lang said. “It was so fun to watch everyone grow. It was a really memorable senior season.”
