The boys and girls indoor track teams competed at the Tri-States championships over the weekend.

Senior Marcus Toto has qualified for states in the triple jump, and junior Jahzara Green qualified in the shot put.

While no one from Baldwin won any events at Tri-States, the teams still performed well, sophomore Zach Lieu said. Lieu ran for the boys relay teams in the meet.

“Overall, we did really well,” he said.

Sophomore Alex Castenada and sophomore Mackenzie Bowen performed particularly well in distance running, Lieu said.

“Alex was the only boy running individually,” Lieu said.

Overall, the team needs to focus more on working together, he said. Once they bring the “overall energy” up, the team will greatly improve, Lieu said.

Meanwhile, the spring track and field season is approaching. Interested students should come to a meeting in the North Cafe after school on Thursday.
