The boys and girls indoor track teams competed at their third TSTCA meet at Edinboro on Saturday.

Sophomore McKinley Beech said there were multiple standout performances for the team.

“Kacee Davenport and Caleb Fruscello ran a good mile, and the girls 4×800 and 4×400 relays also ran well,” Beech said. “Nico Mizell ran a good 200, and Marcus Toto got first in the triple jump.”

The team has one more meet where athletes can qualify for the TSTCA indoor track championships.

Qualifying for the championship is based on the average time for each event from last year. The boys 4×800 relay average was 9:16. Because the 4×800 team ran 9:10 on Saturday, they are now qualified for the championship meet.

Beech said that although the Baldwin boys and girls teams did well, there is room for improvement for their final meet before the championship.

“Everyone should try to improve and try their best to qualify for the championship meet,” he said.

The teams’ final meet before the championship is on Saturday at Edinboro.
