The Baldwin Valorant esports team defeated Warren Area 2-0 on Wednesday.

There were many positive takeaways from the match.

“We had really good teamwork and we communicated well,” senior Alex Kearney said.

The Highlanders also used their video smoke grenades well and had good overall mechanics, he said.

“I think the overall individual performances were good and everyone played their role,” Kearney said.

A key player that stood out was sophomore Dylan Leonhardt.

“He had 28 eliminations in the first game and 27 eliminations in the second game,” senior Annan Gurrung said.

In preparation for the next match, the team plans on getting more practice time together so they can get more comfortable with each other’s style, Gurrung said.

This is the team’s third win, as they battle to repeat the dominance of the previous season.

The team’s next match is against Upper Saint Clair.
