Cafeteria tests smoothie flavors at lunch

The cafeteria is introducing V8 fruit smoothies to the menu and students are voting today on the flavor they like best.

“The smoothies were really good, especially the watermelon raspberry flavor,” senior Hannah Schmidt said. The three flavors being voted on were peach mango, strawberry banana and watermelon raspberry.

“The smoothies seem to be a success with the kids so far,” Food Services Director Joyce Weber said.

The smoothies will be available on special days during the week because they are a high-priced item.

In addition to the smoothies, the cafeteria plans on introducing flatbread and buffalo chicken pizzas for the students to vote on in October.

“We’re planning on keeping the students involved in their lunch choices. The Food Advisory Panel will be continued this year,” Weber said.
