Traditional homecoming court changes

BY JULIA DEGREGORIO
Staff Writer
There are some changes coming this year to the tradition of homecoming court.
The changes come in the senior court, where there will be seven girls and seven boys elected to be in the running for homecoming king and queen. There will still be one girl and one boy elected from other grades to be on the court.
The voting will take place in class next week. The court will be recognized at the homecoming pep rally and football game. The voting to select homecoming king and queen will take place at the homecoming dance at the entrance.
The reasoning behind these changes is to make the event more student-centered, student council co-sponsor Katie Jarocki said.
“We wanted to get more students involved in the tradition,” Jarocki said.
