The Baldwin robotics team was eliminated in the BOTS IQ finals at California University after losing a match against the West Mifflin bot.
The Baldwin bot got stuck in a ridge in the floor, which only needed a simple nudge to keep going, said gifted coordinator, Debbie Reynolds.
There is an option in the rules for West Mifflin to do that for the Baldwin team, but they decided against it, resulting in Baldwin’s loss.
“I think we could have done better. However, I’m glad about all the teamwork and hard work that the members put into building the bot and preparing everything,” Reynolds said. “I’m excited for next year. We have a few new ideas for building the bot.”
