Students need to be aware that there are thousands of jobs in the energy field, panelists said at a forum in the auditorium Tuesday.
Representatives from the energy companies NiSorce, Columbia Gas, and Seneca Resources, along with the West Virginia Northern Community College, discussed the wide range of jobs that are important to the energy field.
“It is estimated that there are 274,000 jobs in the energy industry alone, with salaries that are quite decent. If you are on a track where you want additional education or attend a trade school, there are new opportunities always opening somewhere in this spectrum,” Eric Cowden, of NiSource, said.
