Library use changed for homeroom

BY MICHAELA INDINO
Staff Writer

Because of attendance issues and student behavioral issues, rules for using the library during homeroom have changed, librarian Brigetta Hannah said.

Previously, students were able to get a note from their homeroom teacher to use the library. But some students were not telling their homeroom teacher they were going to the library, which causes an attendance issue, Hannah said. Others were misbehaving, she said.

Starting today, students only may use the library during homeroom if they have a pass from a class teacher to work on a specific project.

Meanwhile, students still are allowed to use to the library during their lunch period, but they must stay for the entire 30 minutes, Hannah said. As usual, students who want to use the library during lunch must sign up before first period.
