Cross country team looks to continue winning ways

BY DILLON HAWRYLAK
Staff Writer

Baldwin’s cross country program is in the midst of another great run.

The boys cross country team took first place in the California University of Pennsylvania Invitational last weekend. The team was led by captains George Kelly, Mike McLaughlin, Jared Mott, and Justin Marsteller.

They have received a top four ranking in all three invites they have participated in this season.

Senior Captain George Kelly likes what he has seen.

“I’m very pleased with the work the team has been putting in this year. I’m very confident that that we will be making it to states this season,” Kelly said.

The girls, meanwhile, took second place at the California University Invitational. The opponent that beat them was Peters Township.

The girls didn’t only do well at the invitational. They also clinched a winning season record by beating Trinity High School on Tuesday.

The whole cross country team will be traveling to Virginia this weekend to participate in the Maymont Invitational. The team will return on Monday and race against Upper St.Clair and Bethel Park on Tuesday.
