Artists such as Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z on The Legends of the Summer tour are not coming to Pittsburgh this year. Beyonce also chose to skip Pittsburgh as have, the Rolling Stones, so far. But some of the biggest tours of the summer are coming to town.

The summer concert season kicks-off with country performances at Heinz Field, rock performances at Stage AE, and pop shows at Consol Energy Center.

Among the country artists is veteran performer Kenny Chesney on June 22 at Heinz Field with new artists Eli Young Band, Eric Church, and Kacey Musgraves. Chesney’s music is perfect to welcome in the new summer season.

Another artist performing at Heinz Field is pop/country artist Taylor Swift on July 6 with Grammy-nominee Ed Sheeran and young teen star Austin Mahone. Swift is continuing her Red tour where she features hits such as “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “I Knew You Were Trouble.”  The Red tour is one of the most anticipated concerts of the summer.

In addition to the popular country concerts at Heinz Field, rock and alternative concerts are at Stage AE. Upcoming concerts include Fun. and Fall Out Boy.

Fall Out Boy will perform at Stage AE on May 21 after a  four-year break. They will be welcomed back by a sold-out Pittsburgh crowd. They likely will feature older songs such as “THNKS FR TH MMRS” and the new hit “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark.”

On July 18 the Grammy-winning favorite Fun. will perform for a sold-out crowd. Fun. is known for its songs “We Are Young” and “Some Nights.”

Consol Energy Center welcomes Bruno Mars and his Moonshine Jungle tour on July 2 with Brit artist Ellie Goulding. Mars is widely known for his song “Grenade” and new hits “Locked Out of Heaven” and “When I Was Your Man.”

On July 8, One Direction comes to Pittsburgh for the first time on their Take Me Home world tour. One Direction is the boy band from the United Kingdom whose song “What Makes You Beautiful” debuted at number one in the U.S.

On Aug. 6 Maroon 5 will appear with guest Kelly Clarkson at First Niagra Pavilion. Both artists have had an award-winning and chart-topping year.

Other popular concerts include Warped Tour on July 17 at First Niagara Pavilion. Warped Tour offers over 100 bands including Allstar Weekend, Tonight Alive, Sleeping with Sirens, and Chiodos. Also, Pitbull and Ke$ha come to the First Niagra Pavilion on June 2.
