The boys varsity lacrosse team finished its season strong with a 8-7 win over Plum Thursday night.

The Highlanders earned a hard-fought win on Plum’s senior rec night, with several players stepping up.

Freshman Michael Zemaitis and senior Shawn McDanel added some of the goals for the team in a solid team performance.

“It felt pretty good to win another game, especially after we’ve worked hard all season,” freshman Zack Pender said.

The Highlanders said they found it disrespectful that Plum chose to have their senior rec night against Baldwin, since they struggled for most of the season, Pender said.

After the win, the team was excited and carried their celebration on to the bus ride home.

“The ride home was crazy. Everyone was really pumped up,” Pender said.
