Norwegian DJ and producer Magnus August Høiberg, popularly known as Cashmere Cat, disregards conventional pop songs with his debut album 9.

The long-awaited album is a compilation featuring today’s biggest pop stars, like Ariana Grande, Kehlani, The Weeknd, Selena Gomez, Ty Dolla $ign, Jhené Aiko, and Camila Cabello from Fifth Harmony.

Prior to this album release, Cashmere has worked with every feature artist that appears on 9 as well as many others, like Kanye West, Travis Scott, and Charlie XCX.

The electric vibe of the album shines during songs like “9 (After Coachella)” and “Plz Don’t Go.” A blend of synthesizers, vocal layers, and lively percussion add dimension to Cashmere’s new sound.

“Quit,” featuring Ariana Grande, is a standout track on the album with its incorporation of R&B chords. This downtempo ballad is a contrast to the electronic genre that Cashmere excels in.

9 is an album that pushes typical pop boundaries and is aimed to please a variety of audiences. This fresh and intricate album will without a doubt be adopted and explored by artists who are searching for a new sound.
