The varsity softball team secured a win Tuesday against Upper St. Clair by a score of 10-0.

Though the team started off slowly but eventually gained momentum and began to do well at bat.

“We didn’t play down to their potential. We played up to our potential,” junior Carly Santillo said. Santillo credited freshman Cassie Carlson and sophomore Addie Tagg for pushing the team to the win.

Carlson hit an in-the-park home run and Tagg pitched well during the game.

“We definitely hit well, but there is still room for improvement,” senior Sam Wampler said. The team’s goal is to make it to playoffs, Wampler said.

Santillo stresses the importance of team spirit and not letting negative comments bring the team down.

“It’s important to remain positive,” Santillo said.

The team’s next home game is this Friday against Ringgold at 7:30 p.m.
