Baldwin pulled off a 4-3 section win in nine innings on Wednesday over Allderdice to improve the team’s section record to 2-3.

Senior Mike Silvestre pulled off a suicide squeeze bunt in the ninth to lift Baldwin to the victory.

“We didn’t play as good as we feel we could’ve,” senior Anthony Rago said. “It is definitely a game we could’ve won in less dramatic fashion.”

Rago had the clutch hit in the seventh that sent the game to extras.

Senior Mikey Dolan started the game and pitched a solid six and two-thirds innings, which gave Baldwin a boost.

“He had some really good stuff and was shutting down hitters,” senior Peter Griener said.

Baldwin’s next game is a big one.

“We play Friday against Bethel Park,” Griener said. “We need to win to jump them in the standings. We have the ability to make the playoffs. It just depends on how things play out with the rest of the section.”
