After a rough start to the season, the boys volleyball team is hoping a win over Gateway on Monday night will help them get on a roll.

The team had lost its first two matches against Peters Township and Upper Saint Clair.

“We had the potential but didn’t execute properly,” senior Luke Scherz said of those earlier matches.

However, the boys bounced back with a dominating 3-0 victory against Gateway. Freshman Teddy Boehm was among the standout players for the Highlanders.

“We had the desire and chemistry to win,” Scherz said.

The team will be searching for its first section victory tonight against Moon.
