The gymnastics team celebrated its senior recognition and last home meet at this Friday’s competition against Thomas Jefferson.

While the team lost by a score of 135.1 to 144, senior Jordan Hoydick said the team “had the best meet we could have had.”

Even though the team suffered a loss, the girls posted their highest team score ever.

“The team was just better than us. There was nothing better we could have done,” Hoydick said.

Team members who had standout performances included junior Hanna Kalwarski and sophomore Haili Cordell, Hoydick said.

While the team did not make WPIALs, some of the girls qualified as individual athletes.

“We will strive to be our best at WPIALS and states so we can come out on top,” Hoydick said.
