After introducing listeners to the groups One Direction and Little Mix, the UK TV show X-Factor has discovered yet another star. Artist James Arthur released his album Back from the Edge recently, and it is well-executed.

This album signifies his return to music, as he barely released any music after winning the X-Factor in 2012.

The song, “Say You Won’t Let Go,” is a standout on the album and shows he is back on track and taking his career seriously. It is a slower song, which allows Arthur to emphasize his vocal range. The heartfelt lyrics and slower pace of the song attracts many listeners.

The overall tone of the album is calm and relaxed, and doesn’t fit the typical mold for pop music. Though the album is not very upbeat like stereotypical pop music, the song “Prisoner” offers more liveliness.

Fans of singer James Bay would most likely enjoy Arthur’s music, since their songs have similar sounds.

With his talented voice and meaningful songs, Arthur definitely has the potential to gain as much popularity in America as the British groups One Direction and Little Mix did.
