The girls basketball team lost its game to Peters Township on Thursday, 51-44.

Senior Lauren Gilbert blamed the loss on the team’s lack of rebounding and energy.

“I think that we have to have better and stronger first quarters,” Gilbert said. She said the team cannot afford to fall back by a lot of points during a game.

Team captains Abbey Larkin, Abby Barr, Amanda Wood, and Gilbert take the losses and use them as motivation to perform better in upcoming games.

“These past two games do not reflect our potential as a team,” Gilbert said, referring to an earlier loss to Mt. Lebanon. The girls play their next home game on Monday against Canon-Mac.

“We need to become the team that I know we can be,” Gilbert said.
