Girls volleyball starts with a win

They may have lost a few seniors to graduation last year, but the girls on the volleyball team showed little effects of that on Tuesday night, as they shut out Peters Township, 3-0, in the first game of the season.

“Energy was the most important factor in our win,” senior Maddi Sgattoni said.

Two standout players were seniors Sydney Yanchik and Abby Wagner, Sgattoni  said.

Another standout was freshman Allison Murray, who played her first game for varsity.

“I knew she was nervous, but she did not show it,” Sgattoni said.

Baldwin’s strongest part of its game was the serving, she said.

Baldwin looks to continue its success against Norwin at Baldwin tonight at 7:15 p.m.

“If we play like we did yesterday we can win,” Sgattoni said.
