The girls softball team suffered its second section defeat on Thursday, falling to Canon-Mac, 5-1.

Recently, the team’s batting has been hot, but the run total yesterday came as a shock.

“We weren’t fully connected as a team, like we were in our prior victories. We swung at some bad pitches, and we just didn’t play up to our capabilities” junior center fielder Katie Knezevich said.

The girls are now 4-2 in the section, and have a true test next Monday when they travel to face North Allegheny, the second overall team in the WPIAL.

“We have a special team this season, and I know we will be able to bounce back and get back to our winning ways,” Knezevich said.
