The boys lacrosse team suffered a tough defeat in their season opener against Trinity on Wednesday, 10-4.

Senior Jordan Allridge and junior Shawn McDanel each had one goal, while sophomore Colton Abate netted the other two.

The Highlanders started out slowly and quickly found themselves in a 7-1 deficit at halftime.

“It was our first half of the year, and our nerves got the best of us,” junior defenseman Jack Clark said. “The second half felt a lot more comfortable for us, and we really started to play our game.”

The players are confident that they will be focused from the beginning when they face their next opponent, Indiana.

“We are a lot better than we showed last night, and I know we will improve from this point forward,” Clark said.
