Senior Jacqueline Lewis will be participating in PMEA District Orchestra this Thursday and Friday.
The rehearsals for the event will take place Thursday and Friday during the school day at Penn Hills High School. The District Orchestra concert will follow the Friday practice at 7:30.
“I’m really excited to be playing first violin in such a talented group,” Lewis said.
A musician has the opportunity to be selected for District Orchestra by submitting an application and being selected based on skill and room in the ensemble.
There will be auditions for the next level after districts, Region Orchestra, on Wednesday, teacher Greg Steele said.
Steele is proud of Lewis and confident that she will perform will at the event.
“It’s a great opportunity to play some really challenging music with some of the best string players. I think Jacqueline will represent us well,” Steele said.
