The boys track and field team went 3-1 and the girls went 2-2 on Tuesday in a section meet against Mount Lebanon, West Mifflin, Bethel Park and Peters.
Sophomore Gianna Harkins thinks this was an improvement for the team.
“I think everyone did a good job putting their best foot forward,” Harkins said. “Everyone really did their best.”
According to Harkins, the team as a whole sometimes struggles with being focused and ready to race.
Harkins ran both the 100 and 4×400 relay. She was able to get a new PR in the 400, which is a new event for her.
“I was done with my section of the race in a minute and 3.5 seconds,” Harkins said.
Sophomore Addy Troutman did great work, leading the 4×400 relay team, Harkins said.
As for the boys team, Harkins said all the 100 meters runners performed very well.
Also, the 4×800 relay team came in second, beating both Peters and Upper St. Clair.
The track and field team competes again on Saturday at South Fayette.
